Booking Form for WIRES Rescue101

Please follow the steps below to book into WIRES Rescue101 Course and pay $25 for your annual Rescue101 membership.

You must be a resident of New South Wales, Australia to volunteer with WIRES. 
If you are an Australian resident living outside of NSW and are still interested in WIRES training please email us at training@wires.org.au

There are also some areas of NSW where you may not yet automatically enrol for the course, if you cannot find your suburb/postcode in the list below you will be prompted to fill in an enquiry form to contact our training team for further details.

Rescue 101 is a new introductory tier of volunteering within WIRES and the course is solely designed for new volunteers to WIRES.  Current WIRES members are already able to perform all rescues that Rescue 101 volunteers are, and have already completed the content of this course within your RICC course, so there is no need for you to complete this course as well.

If you are interesting in doing a RICC Refresher online course (at no charge), you are welcome to sign up for this at any time by contacting training@wires.org.au

WIRES Inc. maintains a personal accident and injury insurance policy on behalf of its volunteers as well as a public liability policy. The insurance policy provides limited cover in the event of death or disablement of a volunteer in the pursuit of WIRES Inc. business.
Volunteers should be aware of the following points:

  • Non-authorised members of the public are not covered by WIRES insurance and MUST NOT be involved in rescue or foster care of native animals.
  • No cover is provided for sickness / illness.
  • Volunteers are covered for necessary travel to and from authorised WIRES activities however volunteers’ vehicles and personal possessions are NOT covered by the Policy.
  • In the event of injury, all medical costs must be recovered from other sources where possible e.g. Medicare and/or private insurance. Insurance does not cover any “gaps” between treatment costs and payments from other sources.
  • Claims resulting from pre-existing injuries are excluded
