Our Rescue Ambulance was called to Avalon on the northern beaches of Sydney to pick up this very young Ringtail Possum joey who had been brought in by the family cat.

You may be interested to know that sadly cat attack is one of the most common reasons WIRES services are needed for our native wildlife.

This little joey was fortunate and his injuries not severe. He was taken by our WIRES ambulance to a trained possum carer and buddied up with another young ringtail about the same age. Once they are both old enough to fend for themselves they will be released back into the wild.
